The Gibsons
The Gibsons got their start as a result of Mike Gibson, Terry Collins and Greta Gibson Brown being part of the youth choir at Elm Springs Baptist Church in Sneedville Tn. Mike had written several songs and he decided to form The Gibsons and get into the studio. Mike contacted life long friend Tony McGee for his advice about recording. Tony told Mike that if he was serious about doing things right he would love to produce The Gibsons first CD. About 6 months later with the help of Tony and Crossroads Studios, our first project “Living Well” was finished. Our first radio release was “Almost Through The Storm” which was picked up by many radio stations and even was featured on Paul Heils Gospel Greats program. One radio station WDFB in Danville, Ky charted “Almost Through The Storm” as their #1 song for 6 months. In 2008 The Gibsons released their second CD entitled, “Give Him Praise” which featured 5 origional songs written by Mike Gibson. The Gibsons released the single “If That Wasn’t God” written by Billy Fields which lacked a couple of points making Singing News Top 80. The Gibsons currently host the Hancock County Fall Festival Singing the first Saturday in October which is held in historic Hancock County Tennessee. As they enter their 5th year they welcomed Chandra Greene to the group. Chandra is not only a talented singer, but a gifted musician. The Gibsons are known for their tight mountain harmony with songs that truly reach out touch the hearts of all their listeners.
